Never out of my CD player for long!  Dec 18, 2006
Every song is great...I can't keep it out of my CD player for very long! My 5-yr-old daughter loves "Wire"...she messes up the words, but she doesn't care! My favorites are "Come on back to Me" because it gives such a great message of matter what you've done, no matter where you are, He always invites you to "come on back"...and "I will hold my head high" which inspires me to stand up for God regardless of the challenges. I also love "Innocent" which helps me remember how powerful the gift of salvation is. My least favorite is "Billy Brown", which I usually fast forward through. This CD rocks, and I love it!!!
Crossover Christian Record  Sep 7, 2006
To the audience used to Third Days' worship songs, like Offerings and Offerings II, Wired may come as a shock. Not once does any of the lyrics mention Lord, God, or Jesus. The listeners may feel disappointed hearing its "watered down" lyrics. Still, the album, in general, is solid. It gives good encouragements to those striving for fame, but failed. The song, "It's a Shame" has an especially poignant message about abusive relationships. As for the music, they sound good, but could use some improvement. Still, you won't feel sorry about buying the record.
All-out Rock n' Roll by Third Day  Jul 25, 2006
Don't get me wrong - I'm a major Third Day fan, as evidenced by the number of other reviews on this site I've written on their albums. But this one doesn't strike me as being the pure genius that "Offerings II: All I Have to Give", "Time", or "Wherever You Are" did.

The reason for this was because of the all-out rock and roll Third Day pumped this album full of. There's no guitar riff spared here, and after the first two seconds of "'Til the Day I Die," you'll know you're in for a wild ride. It stands alone as a great Southern rock album, almost pioneering the genre in ways that we all thought only Lynyrd Skynyrd could, but it just comes across as too harsh for the lyrically challenging band that Third Day is.

Oh, and it's not that lyrically challenging, either. While "Blind", "I Believe" and "Innocent" have some great messages, "'Til the Day I Die," "Rockstar," "Billy Brown" and especially "San Angelo" are watered down to the extreme where it almost takes studying the lyrics to find the gimmicky lines put in to make it "Christian."

However, those are my complaints, and I still give this CD 4 stars as being one of the last albums recently to keep the lifeblood of Southern rock going. Admittedly, musically "Billy Brown" and "San Angelo" have to be some of the best southern rock songs ever written outside of Lynyrd Skynyrd, which is probably the best comparison that can be made to this album (though Third Days driving energy is much more extreme than Skynyrd's). If you looking for something to worship in your car to, this is no Chris Tomlin, folks. No Micheal W. Smith either. It's pure rock and roll. So pick it up, listen to it, enjoy it, and love it. It's just not the same Third Day you remember from the Offerings years.
Just Doesn't Do Anything For Me  Jun 30, 2006
I have always felt pretty neutral about Third Day. I don't love them and I don't hate them. To me, they're just alright. Their songs always have a great message and they are awesome about serving Jesus. I know that a lot of people love them and they are great witnesses. However, I feel like their songs aren't catchy enough. They do not make me want to sing along and share that experience of worship. So I just kind of sit back and get bored.

Mac Powell has those booming, Southern rock vocals that many love. However, often times I can't understand what he is singing (and I am someone who was able to understand what Kurt Cobain was singing!). I think that Bart Millard (MercyMe) and Jeremy Camp have much better booming vocals because of their ability to enunciate and write songs that are impossible to get out of your head.

But I think one thing is certain. If you are a Third Day fan, you will most certainly like this album as well. If you are a neutral fan like me, then this CD won't change your mind. And if you are a new fan, then listen to some sample tracks and make up your mind. That's the best advice I can offer to someone who is thinking about getting this CD.

I did enjoy Third Day's album: Offerings II: All I Have To Give. A lot of good songs on that album with better enunciation.
I just can't give it 3 stars.  Jun 15, 2006
I would have to say MOST of the songs on here are good. But we could've done without rockstar,Billy Brown, and San Angelo. All 3 of these songs don't even hardly say anything about Jesus Christ. My favorites are:til' the day i die, come on back to me,wire,i believe, blind, you are mine, and I will hold my head up high.Unless you are a major third day freak i would get the debut, time or offerings1 and 2.
